At 11 AM on Tuesday August 30th 2011 Delmarva Power said on their home page that:
We expect to have customers in the Bay Region restored by 11 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, and in the New Castle Region by noon, Thursday, Sept. 1. Significant progress has been made with almost 100,000 customers restored.
On the morning of Monday August 29th 2011 Delmarva Power reported that:
The company estimates power will be restored to all its customers in the Bay region no later than midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Service for all customers in Northern Delaware and northeastern Maryland will be restored no later than noon on Thursday, Sept. 1. At the peak of the outage, approximately 220,000 customers were without power. As of 10 a.m. today, Delmarva Power restored service to approximately 180,000 customers. Currently, about 40,000 customers remain without power, but the company expects to restore power for the majority of those customers by this Wednesday.
On the morning of Sunday August 28th 2011 Delmarva Power reported that:
Damage to the electrical infrastructure has been extensive up and down the East Coast. In Delmarva Power’s service area, Hurricane Irene delivered heavy rains and severe winds. As of Sunday morning, over 210,000 Delmarva Power customers had experienced outages. Delmarva Power has since restored service to over 91,000 of those customers with approximately 120,000 remaining customers currently without power.
